Updos
Things to Know Before Your Updo Appointment
If you’re considering getting an updo for the first time, there are a handful of things to keep in mind as you prepare for your appointment. First, your hair needs to be shoulder length at the very least. If it isn’t but you’d like a consultation on getting extensions to make the updo possible, please consult one of our stylists today.
If your hair is long enough, make sure you wash your hair the night before or morning of your appointment, but do not over condition it. Follow that up by blow-drying your hair so it is completely dry. If you have color treated hair, it’s best to have had it freshly colord as putting your hair up will reveal the roots and will look unnatural from certain camera angles. Also, do NOT use a flat iron or curling iron before your appointment – it’s best to leave you hair in as natural a state as possible for your stylist to work with.
When you come in, it will be helpful if you show up early so you can have a look at the different updo styles available and there is plenty of time for the process. If you’d like to look at styles prior to coming into the salon, just ask one of our stylists for magazine and website recommendations. A final thing to keep in mind when coming in for your appointment is to wear a loose fitting or button-down shirt that you will be able to remove without messing up your hair when you change after your appointment.
