I cannot believe we’re already this far into the year but we are less than one week away from Halloween!! Since this funky holiday falls on a week night this year, we get to celebrate all weekend long!! I’ve never been a big fan of Halloween myself but I do find it quite fun to get a little into the spirit around this time of the month! I’ve thought up 5 tips and tricks you can do this Hallo-weekend that are festive yet still totally fashionable!
1. Texture Spray/Tease
This is by far my favorite!! I love nothing more than I love big hair! Pick up a can of Bumble and bumble’s Dryspun Finish hairspray from us and trust me, you will fall in love! You don’t have to wait for Halloween to roll around to tease it up, this is a look (and a product) that you can use all year long! Every hairstylist’s motto is that a little bit of volume goes a long way!
2. Cat Eyeliner
As subtle as a good cat eye might be, they’re still so classic! Through my Pinterest and tutorial obsession, I’ve learned the trick to use a simple piece of Scotch tape to outline exactly where you’re going to draw on your liner. It’s a fool proof way to create the perfect cat eye! Grab some liquid eyeliner and have fun playing with it! After some practice, you’ll get so good that all your friends will be asking you to do it on them!
3.Crimp Your Hair
My fellow 90’s girls, it’s about time we dust off our crimpers and go crazy!! This is such a fun look for everyone! You can do your whole head for more of a “Bride of Frankenstein” look or stick to doing only a few pieces and you’re changing it up to a total rock star look!! Maybe it’s the 90’s in me but I really do love a good crimped style. People will definitely notice you at your Halloween party. (Plus I’m dying to get this trend going again…we got chokers, why not crimping!?)
There is so much you can do with a smoky eye. My eyes are pretty small so this isn’t a look that I can personally pull off and because of it I’ve always been jealous of girls who can. You don’t have to make it scary, I’m talking sexy and . Framing your eyes in dark colors can easily upgrade your look from innocent to mysterious. So many companies are making their own cost-friendly palettes and I’m telling you, they’re worth a try!
Halloween is the perfect time to experiment with dark lipstick. I’m talking blood red, dark plum, and heck – even black!! If you don’t feel like splurging on something you’re not sure that you will even like then pick up a cheapie from your local drug store and try it out! Who knows, you just might find your new signature look!
Halloween is a time when anything goes! If there’s a look that I have or have not mentioned that you’re dying to try – I’m saying “GO FOR IT!”And always remember that the best accessory you can wear is your confidence! We’re all beautiful!!
