5 How-To’s for a More Beautiful You Over-Night
We spend 8 hours of our day asleep (if we’re lucky). Now that can seem like time wasted to some, but from now on it’s a time to get beautiful! We multitask all day long, so why not while we’re in bed?! Before hitting the sack, try these 5 easy how-to’s and thank me in the morning!
1. Apply Hair Oils
Applying a little bit of hair oil here and there after you’re done styling is great for your hair and leaving the oil on all night long is super beneficial!! Allowing the oils to sit on your hair will lock in moisture and reduce so much frizz. You’ll wake up in the morning with your hair feeling softer than ever!
2. Exfoliate Skin
This is a step we often forget, but it’s very important to exfoliate your face at least every two days! Exfoliation removes the dead, dry skin cells and debris trapped on the surface of our skin. If we don’t exfoliate and just leave those nasty cells on our skin, it causes our face to look rough and dull with an uneven skin tone! The moment you exfoliate, your skin will be even more radiant and youthful-looking.
3. Apply Retinol
We’re always looking for ways to fight that monster called “aging”, but I’m telling you that it doesn’t have to be an ugly thing! Applying retinol every night before bed will help prevent dark spots as well as reduce wrinkles and fine lines. What more of a reason do we need?
4. Prepare Your Hair
This goes back to last week’s blog! If you’re like me and you like to shower at night, just follow these simple steps and your hair will be ready to go when you wake up! All you have to do is add a little powder and throw your hair up in a loose bun and it will be so much easier to style your hair in the morning – don’t forget the Scrunchie! You’ll wake up with twice as much volume as you normally would, so just add a couple curls on your ends and you’re ready to go!
5. Apply Masque
We’re always in such a rush and that few extra minutes in the shower can make us late to work. Overnight is the perfect time to leave your hair masque in!! The longer you can leave a masque on, the better – they need at least 10-15 minutes to really penetrate your hair’s cuticle and make a difference. I will agree, that seems impossible during the day when you’re getting ready, but it’s a no-brainer leaving it in while you sleep! **Tip: Be sure not to use a masque with protein in it! Leaving protein on your hair for too long will cause adverse effects!!**
With winter upon us, it is more important than ever to get on top of the health of our hair and skin! You may have noticed in the past that this time of year naturally causes our hair to dry up. After following these 5 easy tips, people will notice the change in your skin and hair! Remember that no matter what you’re beautiful!!
